“THE HAUNTED” is a brand-new track by ‘Fantastic Trees.’ the recording radiates with immediate warmth and things get more and more interesting as the track progresses. Fantastic Trees is a Boston-based indie rock band that formed in the
early days of the COVID pandemic. Members of the band come from a variety of influences ranging from “Pink Floyd” to the “Velvet Underground,” with shades of post punk, that come together in the unique sound of Fantastic Trees. These awesome souls offer the strength of melody and vocal performance, a popular- music-inspired backdrop and structure, a slick and stylish hint of indie rock, and a striking and memorable concept and storyline.
From the first few seconds that leading vocal strikes with power and passion and draws you right in. “THE HAUNTED” is a dark mirror of self-reflection. It is patient, there’s a notable amount of space within the instrumentation, something not all that common in rock music. The effect of this is that you can really notice and appreciate each element that makes up the song – the leading vocal, the passion, the poetry, the imagery, the riffs, the drumline, the structure. The track is composed of numerous different sections, not necessarily conforming to the standard, expected, radio-worthy building blocks of mainstream music, and not needing to. Each part leads well into the next, and all in all the arrangement makes for a thoroughly enjoyable and meaningful few minutes of music.
