“Killzone,” the latest single from Living Dead Stars, is a Melodic Hard Rock and Melodic Metal smash that combines the genre’s raw energy with the classic riffs and pace of a simpler time.
Living Dead Stars, a Melodic Hard Rock band founded by M.Nox in London in 2016, is now based in Los Angeles with a new lineup. Influences include Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch, Stone Sour, System of a Down, as well as elements of film score style orchestrations and Linkin Park style electronica.
Living Dead Stars combines solid and aggressive guitars and drums with groovy bass, melodic vocals, and orchestral synths.
M.Nox (vocals) fronts this juggernaut of a band that comprises drummer Ashley Guest (Benediction), guitarist Spence Conley (Of Eyes That See), and bassist Jon Black, who has toured with Jennifer Batten, Twisted Sister, Ignite, and many others. The band had just ended their U.K. tour with “The Calling” in March 2020 and were ready to embark on a tour with heavy metal titans “Anvil” when the entire world was quarantined for Covid-19. But don’t worry pals; they’ll pick up where they left off with Anvil in the fall of 2022!
Living Dead Stars are now on a roll with their music. “Killzone” is a song that rapidly connects with the listener and continues to reinforce those threads throughout the rest of the encounter.
The song breaks into the room with the organic rock warmth of a timeless classic from the start. The percussion and guitar work immediately appeal and connect – that chord sequence has a particular familiarity.
