theAlienz is one of the greatest, unique bunch of spirited souls who truly love music. theAlienz is from Los Angeles and “Sorry Like Kanye” is their recently released track to all the audience out there.
Some of the instruments used in this track are quite unusual, so although the track has a very classic feel to it – that nostalgia we all crave – there is a lot about it that is brand new, and that’s something which speaks volumes. It’s the kind of track that really gets you geared up for the good times, encapsulating the right kind of mood for anything. Some of those retro synth sounds are subsequently really effective in this setting.
On top of it all, the rap vocal has this thoroughly chilled out sound to it, a mood which passes on to you as you listen; it’s effective, it’s music doing what it should, flowing freely to make you feel good when you listen. Rather than shouting or screaming to get your attention, this leading vocal speaks with a confidence throughout the track – a certainty that is easy to listen to and take on-board. It makes it all very believable, and therefore pretty easy to trust and relax to.
That hook as well, it comes out regularly enough to really leave a lasting impression. The vocal performance is powerful and smooth, it builds a good contrast with the verse vocal, so the whole track feels like an episode or a story, with its various ups and downs, and never too repetitive or tiresome.
