Producer Popcypher leads with equal parts character and professionalism, collaborating with a contemplative and often captivating Antonia Marquee for this comprehensive album of absorbing, enchanting originals Rising. The twelve tracks on this album flow together effortlessly, despite their obvious individual qualities, which make for an interesting and engaging listen from start to finish.
There are so many different aspects to Rising that it’s difficult to know where to start. The production is top-notch, the songwriting is clever and catchy, and the performances are uniformly excellent.
The album opens with Dance Tonight, a track that sets the tone for the rest of the album perfectly. It’s a fun, upbeat song with a great hook that will get stuck in your head for days. This is followed by the next track, Calm Down, a beautiful ballad with an infectious chorus that will stay with you long after the song is over.
Chicago is the next track, and it’s a personal favorite with its nostalgic pop sound, innovative take, and catchy melody. If this song is any indication of what the rest of the album is going to sound like, we are in for a real treat.
