GUISE, a fast-rising three-piece rock band from Liverpool, England, aims high this season with an identifiable rock-smash that effectively illuminates a whole new side of their music.
Guise is a three-piece musical band from Liverpool that presents some of the city’s best musicians. Guise is a melodically powered rock band with plenty of ‘pop-factor.’ They boast enormous hooks in choruses and mixing sounds from the rough guitars of the ’70s to the melodically laced overtones of the ’80s, finished off with a striking yet glamorous appearance.
With this track, Guise openly exposes their songwriting and musicality. The soundscape is excellent. A solid rock track necessitates a great riff and superior production to come to life immediately – and those building elements are present from the start. It’s an infectious song, and supplementary guitar flickers harmonic alternatives add to its likeability.
It chugs along at a good clip, with guitar and bass welded together in a symphony of tension-building as the main singer’s vocal skillfully glides between deep resonance and aggression.
It’s a committed vocal, seeming as if it cares about the material and the character enough to add further layers of sense to the story. It’s a captivating instrument that’s employed effectively to flesh out Guise’s sound.
Instead of hiding behind effects or fillers, the band allows their songs to stand tall on the strength of their writing, passion, and perfection. The song cries out for relief and connection, and the emotion is palpable. The soundtrack responds to this desire by providing a sensation of escapism.
It’s a tremendous conclusion and a clear standout. Guise will most certainly be a band to keep an eye on when the festival season returns in the next year or so. Meanwhile, crank up the volume on this one.
