Organic good vibes and a mellow groove startup this new track from Yvng Stef. Life’s Hard features a quickly calming aura, poetic reflections on life, and a simple yet satisfying melody that leaves its mark with ease. Introducing the artist as a deeply thoughtful storyteller, the style offers plenty in the way of honesty and originality, yet also holds close to the vocally affected, smooth production styles of the contemporary scene. Life’s Hard in full brings together all of these qualities and unites hip hop and RnB in a stylish, emotive fashion. Life’s Hard is a powerful song, fairly minimalist but strong in its passion and concept. A great way to start.
Yvng Stef is an emerging young talent from Capitol Heights, Maryland. When you listen to his music you can feel his maturity which is remarkable for a 21-year-old especially who started professional music life just 4 months before. Guess his difficult childhood made him stronger and mature. He was raised by his mother and had to deal with the loss of his elder brother which was hard for him. Yvng Stef found that music helped him to relax his mind to find peace within himself. Especially the music of legendary rapper Tupac. Once he decided he wanted to move forward as an independent rap artist he wanted something of his own while giving something to cherish to the audience. His passion and effort combined with his natural talent made sure his songs were great to listen to. The affection he gets from his ever-growing fanbase proves it and motivates him.
Despite the weight of the soundscape and the implications of the title though, the song is just as heartfelt and poetic and the use of distortion alongside this subtle trap beat is stylistically refreshing. Combine that with Yvng Stef’s considerate writing style and these catchy melodies, and the whole thing connects in a relevant yet fresh way. It’s on point in terms of the current sound of hip hop and alternative pop, yet it keeps things emotionally raw, genuine and leads with refreshing reflections on life that are likely to be all too familiar for many listeners. Well worth escaping into for a while.
